Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

  • Job description applies to ANC and ATX Plants and is subject to any change as management deems necessary.
  • Order all registered Cutting Tools, Factory Articles, Oils/Chemicals (N, F, L, C parts) for ANC and ATX Plants.
  • Handle RFQs for part registrations on cutting tools, factory articles, and oils/chemicals for AWNC and AWTX.
  • Order spot buys as required.
  • Consistent communications with planning department and suppliers to mitigate late deliveries, expedites, part changes, etc.
  • Maintain communication and relationships with suppliers to ensure effective communications and compliance with our purchasing requirements.
  • Assist other departments with obtaining supplier quotations and inquiries to support their requirements (if asked).
  • Provide internal customer service needs (as required) in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Develop cost saving strategies and record cost savings to meet individual and departmental set goals.
  • Diligently maintain purchase order revisions, part price revisions and other adjustments.
  • Work with finance and suppliers to handle invoice discrepancies.
  • Work with tool crib personnel to handle non-conforming delivery issues.
  • Other duties assigned as required.

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Microsoft AX is a plus.
  • Possess an assertive disposition - demonstrating a self-starter mentality and a history of taking ownership and driving change, while accepting direction from management.
  • Experience with order processing, RFQs, and invoicing.
  • Proven effectiveness in meeting deadlines and achieving expected results
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks while working as part of a larger team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while effectively achieving daily work requirements.
  • Willingness to accept, incorporate, and effectively execute additional responsibilities as required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Bilingual (English/Japanese) not required but preferred.
  • Experience with IATF certification activities.
  • Experience with generating cost saving ideas and implementing them.
  • Understanding or experience with MRP.

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent minimum, additional education preferred.

Work Environment Requirements

  • Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Must perform job duties onsite, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits).
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where constructive criticism is encouraged.
  • Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality.
  • Must be able to operate as an effective team member.
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies.

Attendance/Work Hour Requirements

  • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Must be willing and available to work such weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.

Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 25%
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
